PAO 6, or Polyalphaolefin 6 is an olefin-based oil of Group IV derived from C10 alpha olefins.
Key features:
Super high viscosity index: due to its high viscosity index (around 137), PAO 6 provides excellent high temperature protection and low temperature flow characteristics.
Hydrolytic stability: PAO 6 has good resistance to hydrolysis, making it suitable for use in high humidity environments.
Shear stability
Low volatility
Excellent oxidation resistance
These properties make PAO 6 very adaptable for use in extremely stressful applications such as cold weather starting or high operating temperatures.
