100N

100N Group II Base Oil is a high-quality light neutral base oil produced using advanced hydroprocessing technology to deliver superior purity, oxidation stability, and reliable performance. According to the American Petroleum Institute (API) classification, Group II base oils should meet 3 criteria:

  1. contain at least 90% saturated hydrocarbons (saturates)
  2. have no more than 0.03% sulfur,
  3. possess high VI: viscosity index ranging from 100 to 120.

Thanks to its high chemical purity, low sulfur content, enhanced oxidation stability, and low volatility, 100N Group II Base Oil is widely used in the production of modern automotive and industrial lubricants, ensuring reliable equipment performance under a wide range of operating conditions.

Various producers name this grade slightly differently, depending on branding and technology, but it is basically the same product: 100N, 110N, HC-4, EHC 45, 100R, etc.

Applications

100N Group II Base Oil is widely used in:

  • Engine oils
  • Hydraulic oils
  • Industrial oils
  • Turbine oils
  • Compressor oils
  • Automatic transmission fluids (ATF)
  • Metalworking fluids
  • Process oils

Benefits

  • High Purity – Advanced hydroprocessing technology provides a highly refined base oil with excellent chemical purity.
  • Excellent Oxidation Stability – Helps reduce deposit formation and maintain lubricant performance.
  • Low Sulfur Content – Supports the production of cleaner and higher-quality lubricants.

Flexible logistics solutions are available, including flexitanks, ISO tanks, and bulk shipments.

FAQ

100N designates a Light Neutral base oil and indicates its viscosity characteristics and suitability for a wide range of lubricant formulations.
Compared with Group I base oils, Group II base oils offer higher purity, lower sulfur content, better oxidation stability, and improved overall performance, making them an excellent choice for modern lubricant formulations.
Not really, Group III has better VI, low temperature properties, oxidation stability and NOACK. There are some applications where you could replace some Group III with Group II and PAO combination, for example.
Yes, usually Group III can replace Group II in the similar viscosity, but Group III cost is higher.
That is high quality Group II base oils, for example, produced by Chevron or Exxon, with low Noack, high stability and viscosity index above 110cst @ 100C, but not high enough to quality for Group III.
